We are currently recruiting for a Handyman to join our team at our facility in Clontarf Dublin 3

 

Shift Pattern Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:00 Friday 08:00 - 15:00

 

 

Main duties and responsibilities

 

  • To carry out repairs and reactive maintenance on all building fabric and facilities related systems under our control as per the client/Apleona contract relationship
  • Assist the engineering team to carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control as per the client/Apleona contract relationship.
  • Participate in property & facility related inspections and lead in follow up actions.
  • Be proactive in anticipating facilities related improvements and repairs.
  • Carry out fabric maintenance, including painting and decorating, furniture repair and upkeep of fixtures and fittings etc.
  • Maintain a high standard of record keeping, cleanliness and Good Practice, and ensure compliance with the 6s system (Sorting, Simplify, Sweep, Standardise, Sustain, Safety) during maintenance work.
  • Preparing meeting rooms for meetings.
  • Assist with the moving of plant and equipment as deemed necessary by the client.
  • Hold a clean driver's licence and be prepared to conduct local collections as required.
  • Assist with subcontractor and vendor management.
  • Assist with on-the-job training opportunities and be prepared to act as Subject Matter Expert on facilities related systems as agreed with your manager.
  • Actively participate in daily hard service meetings and contribute to the daily work activities on site including site cleanup and waste management.
  • Participate in mandatory/on the job/voluntary training and upskilling opportunities and continuously strive for self-improvement.
  • Must be willing to take on and familiarize with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary to complete the role.
  • Assist with all queries regarding quotations and purchasing when requested Be proficient in the use of Maximo and understand the importance of prompt and accurate record keeping.
  • Take on ad hoc projects from time to time as deeded necessary by the Client and / or facilities manager.

 

Qualifications and experience

 

  • Technical qualification as required by (generally electrical or mechanical).
  • Previous experience in a similar position and environment.
  • Previous post qualified experience. Experience using forklift.
  • Previous experience working in a building services maintenance role.
  • Must be physically fit as this can be a demanding role.
  • Computer literate. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable depending on the requirements of the role.
  • Full driver's licence
