We are looking for a Full-time Waste Operative to join our facilities team in Cootehill, Co Cavan
Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 Friday 08:00 - 15:30
Main duties and responsibilities
General services operatives are responsible for dealing with hazardous and nonhazardous waste management on site. Duties, not restricted to, are as follows:
- To service hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection points throughout client site
- Empty Non-hazardous bins ▪ Empty Hazardous waste bins
- Filling and use of the general waste compactor
- Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable Compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste streams
- Loading of curtainsiders and containers by use of Forklift
- Completion of all ADR/IMDG paperwork for shipments of hazardous waste off site
- Decanting of hazardous waste streams on site ▪ Completion of all relevant paperwork with regard non-hazardous waste
- Other paperwork and admin duties ▪ Liaise with waste management vendors
- Salting of the car park over the winter months
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in Environmental or Waste management desirable but not essential.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety good practice in relation to cleaning procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation
- Well-organised and capable of prioritising own work
- Flexible, Honest and reliable
- Previous experience in similar role advantageous
- Forklift training a distinct advantage
