We are looking for a Full-time Waste Operative to join our team at our facility in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork
Working pattern:Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 Friday 08:00 - 15:30
Main duties and responsibilities
General services operatives are responsible for dealing with hazardous and nonhazardous waste management on site. Duties, not restricted to, are as follows:
▪ To service hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection points throughout client site
▪ Empty Non-hazardous bins ▪ Empty Hazardous waste bins
▪ Filling and use of the general waste compactor
▪ Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable Compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste streams
▪ Loading of curtainsiders and containers by use of Forklift
▪ Completion of all ADR/IMDG paperwork for shipments of hazardous waste off site
▪ Decanting of hazardous waste streams on site ▪ Completion of all relevant paperwork with regard non-hazardous waste
▪ Other paperwork and admin duties ▪ Liaise with waste management vendors
▪ Salting of the car park over the winter months
Qualifications and experience
▪ Experience in Environmental or Waste management desirable but not essential.
▪ Ability to demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety good practice in relation to cleaning procedures
▪ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
▪ Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation
▪ Well-organised and capable of prioritising own work
▪ Flexible, Honest and reliable
▪ Previous experience in similar role advantageous
▪ Forklift training a distinct advantage
